How to Use Your AVEO Travel Press for Brewing Coffee
1. Remove the cover, strainer, and plunger from the Travel Press. Remove the cover from the strainer.
2. Put the desired amount of course ground coffee into the Travel Press. (Note that only course ground coffee should be used. Fine ground coffee may cause the grounds to pass through the filter and into your coffee. It can also clog the filter and create high pressure when pressing down on the plunger.)
3. Pour hot water (not boiling water) into the Travel Press. Leave at least 3cm/1.2 in of space above the water level to allow enough room for the plunger and strainer. For best results, stir the coffee grounds and water with a spoon.
4. Place the plunger and strainer (without the cover) on top of the Travel Press. Turn the strainer clockwise until the seal is seated. Leave the plunger rod in the up position; do not press the plunger down. Allow the coffee to brew for at least four minutes until it reaches your desired strength.
5. Hold the Travel Press steady on a flat, dry, non-slip surface with one hand, then slowly press the plunger all the way down with your other hand. Warning: Do not press down on the plunger with excessive force. Using excessive force on the plunger can cause scalding hot liquid to spray out of the Travel Press.
6. Place the cover on top of the strainer and turn clockwise until the seal is seated. Now you are ready take your Travel Press with you wherever life may take you.
7. Warning: Allow your coffee to cool before drinking. The hot water used in brewing the coffee and the vacuum insulation in your Travel Press can cause the coffee to be very hot.
8. Remove the cover when you are ready to enjoy your fresh brewed coffee.
How to Use Your AVEO Travel Press for Brewing Tea
Method 1: Using Loose Leaf Tea
1. Remove the cover, strainer, and plunger from the Travel Press. Remove the cover from the strainer.
2. Loose tea can be brewed without using the plunger. The strainer is sufficient to filter most loose tea leaves and keep them in the Travel Press, not in your mouth. To remove the plunger from the strainer, hold the plunger filter firmly in one hand, then rotate the plunger knob counterclockwise with your other hand. Continue rotating until the plunger rod separates from the plunger filter.
3. Remove the plunger rod from the strainer. Set the plunger filter and rod aside for future use.
4. Put the desired amount of loose leaf tea into the Travel Press.
5. Pour hot water (not boiling water) into the Travel Press. Leave at least 3cm/1.2in of space above the water level to allow enough room for the strainer.
6. Place the strainer (without the cover) on top of the Travel Press and turn clockwise until the seal is seated. Allow the tea to brew until it reaches your desired strength.
7. Place the cover on top of the strainer and turn clockwise until the seal is seated. Now you are ready take your Travel Press with you wherever life may take you.
8. Warning: Allow your tea to cool before drinking. The hot water used in brewing the tea and the vacuum insulation in your Travel Press can cause the tea to be very hot.
9. Remove the cover when you are ready to enjoy your fresh brewed tea.
Method 2: Using Crushed or Ground Tea
1. Follow the instructions above brewing coffee. Substitute crushed or ground tea for the coffee, follow the instructions, and you are ready to enjoy your freshly brewed tea.
